Club History and Overview

History

Founded in 2008, Chathiyara FC has its earnest beginnings as a sports training centre formed by the Chathiyara Vocational Higher Secondary School. Over the course of time, it has acquired different shapes and slowly emerged as a football academy that has trained over 1500 young talents.

During the 13 years of its successful journey, Chathiyara Football Academy has covered many major milestones and has hosted many renowned international coaches in our home ground. Our players have also received training by UEFA A licensed international coaches namely Mr. Marcel Van Dyke, Mr. Radek Rusin, Mr. Mikolaj Raczynski, Mrs. Vernace, Mr. Kendel and Mr. Frank Sebagella. Our academy also saw visits from Mr. Edwin Eekhof and Ms. Michelle Vrieling (Netherlands National team player) as an initiative to increase awareness on international women in football. Mr. Rafael Cruz, UEFA A licensed coach from Netherlands, was the International Chief Guest of AIFF Golden Baby League 2020 which witnessed participation from 56 teams from across Kerala and Karnataka.

We have a passionate and dedicated committee that continually strives to improve the club and ensure it is a successful part of the community. It is our goal to continually improve the club’s achievements on and off the field and to encourage the whole community to get involved with our beloved sport and join our family.

Message from the Principal

Our school VHSS Chathiyara is situated in a rural area without any facilities for the children to excel in sports. In order to overcome this drawback, upon instructions of our founder manager Sri. Koppara S Narayanan Nair, CSA (Chathiyara Sports Academy) was founded in 2008 under the leadership of Sri. K N Krishnakumar. Over the course of time, Chathiyara Football Academy was established in 2010 in collaboration with SEPT (Sports and Education Promotion Trust). Ever since, CFA helped our students to get physical training and football coaching. Our students were selected to the district, zonal and state teams. They secured admission in various professional colleges and arts and science colleges in the state. Some were even selected to the Indian Army football teams. Our senior students are now playing for professional teams in Kerala State.
